I just got my hands on a Texas Sesquicentenial1836 to 1986 Colt 1860 Army in a glass top case with flask and bullet mold locking case and can be hung on the wall.
Barrel is marked 1836 Texas Sesquicentennial 1986 on left side. on top address col Sam Colt New York U S all in Gold color. The cylinder is marked The Lone Star State. Also scrolling around the cyl are a raceing stagecoach, Indian with 1 feather I think is Quanta Parker a Indian in full headdress and a cowboy on horseback. All pictures are gold washed.
The gun is steelframed with silver metal backstrap and trigger guard. Also has the Seal of Texas on the left grip.
Any one remember how many were made and who made them??? This one is #302 I don't keep track of pistols so hope I made a good deal at $200. Thanks for any help.

Sorry but I didn't find anything in Google or Yahoo.

Your pistol sounds like one of the guns made by places like "America Remembers, The American Historical Foundation or U.S. Historical Society but I couldn't get a match for a 1860 Percussion C&B revolver.

While some of the companies like Colt and Winchester made presentation arms for the "Texas Sesquicentennial" the only thing I could find was cartridge guns.

Had I found your gun was made by any of these above mentioned companies we would be talking about a value of $2000-$3000.

In any case, I do not recommend that you shoot the pistol. In fact, I don't recommend that you handle it as the acids on your skin can cause damage.

IMO it truly is sad when a nice gun is only good to look at. :(
It's kinda like having a big piece of candy and not being able to lick it.

Maybe someone else has heard of this model and can give better information for you.

Thanks Zonie. I couldn't find it there either and did find the cartrige guns. It Will look good hanging in my son's room unless I find someone who wants it more than I do. It is nice looking and does look sturdy enough to use but I have others for that. ROA and Remingtons.
Thank for your time

Was that the one in the auction in McAllen? I saw the ad in the paper and checked the website. Nice pistol -- if you got it for $200.00 I am regretting not having made the dri  ve.
