Thanks to everyone here I had a very successful first trip to the range with my T/C Hawken .50
I've never had this much fun shooting. I wish I had tried muzzzleloaders before.

This is my Hawken I completed recently.

and my target. 50 yards, 60 grains of pyrodex, .490 round ball, .015 pre-lubed patch.

There is definitely a lot of satisfaction in it that's for sure...and it sounds like you're hooked... :thumbsup:
 
I find that 60 grains of FFF Goex makes an excellent hunting load in a .50 caliber rifle.
 
Better sell that gun and fast! You will never be the same. :rotf: Once you smell the blackpowder it very hard to stop shooting. Great looking gun, enjoy. :thumbsup:
 
I'm already thinking about getting a squirrel gun. :grin: I love to squirrel hunt and I think a .32 cal will be finding it's way to my house before squirrel season. :grin:
