Being somewhat egotistical, Part 2 of the Bastard gun just shows a few more Pictures.

This last photo shows the B Gun (second from the right) compared with a 42 inch barreled gun, a 37 inch Transitional and a TC Hawken.
Because it's barrel is swamped, it weighs less than any of the others.

Shes a 'beaut sir, and you are obviously a very talented craftsman. Would you trade her for ....ahhhh....errr....a date with my sister-in-law? Kidding aside, thats a fine shootin' iron.

Wow Zonie, you own a gun without any inlays on it... (TC Hawken)

Impressive...

I couldn't resist having some inlays. It has 3.
The two on the forestock and a oval inlay on the wrist behind the tang. :shocking:

Zonie,
Awsome! :master:
Beautiful work!I must leave my computer chair right now to keep my Key board from shorting out with all the drool flying around. ::

Looks really nice. I love the color of that stock.

Regards, sse

Zonie,
it's not egotistical if you got the product!!!!
and you have it!!!! :master: :master: :master: :master:
thanks for sharing

Beautiful work, when can I get one. :RO:  :redthumb:

Nice try, Swampfox, but he doesn't sell them. Can you believe that? I and others have inquired about his "prices", assuming, as one would, that he builds them for a living. But he doesn't. :youcrazy:

Beautiful work, Zonie!

Now how could I bring myself to sell something as cute as this?
cangun1.jpg

Just kidding. But occasionally I get out some ot them and just stare at them.
I can remember a time that having just one little Italian Kentucky flinter seemed good. Now when I look at them I think I must be one of the wealthiest guys in the world.

Someday I may sell them, but not right now.

Zonie,
Fabulous work. As a minimum, if you don't sell them, be sure to make provision in your will that they are taken care of - family, a museum, whatever. I wish I had half the talent represented by these works of art!

I had to turn the contrast down on my monitor once I got my vision back.

Wow. Them's some shiny rifles. Don't you think you need someone like me to grungy them up for you. I'll only charge $60 a piece if you mail me one a a time every three months for the next few years. Patina the hex out of 'em so they look natural. I promise I'll eventually mail them back. ::

If I could make something that looks only half as good as those, I probably couldn't part with them either. No telling how much you could get for them, though, if you did decide to sell them.

That is one heck of a collection you have there. And, to know that you made them must really feel very good. Dang, I'm jealous!

WOW Zonie,
What a collection. We are heading to Arizona this summer on vacation, I wonder if my wife would consider an extra day so we could stop by the "Zonie Museum of Muzzleloading"? I understand why you don't want to sell any of them rifles, the backlog of orders would take all of the fun out of it. Keep posting photos, it is about time I change my screen saver.
Thanks
Zman :master: :master: :master:

Zonie...I haven't seen anything so pretty since the birth of my Granddaughter! Do you shoot them or just "pose" 'em out? I would just hang them on the wall and replace that old grungy Rembrandt I have.

Zonie,
OUTSTANDING!!!!!!! Made that botom photo
my screen background.

Snake-eyes: That picture is my Computer background at work.

Do I shoot them? YUP. In fact both the Bastard Gun and the Southern? gun (third from the bottom) went to the range today. I made it .54 caliber day for me.

At the range, the B gun told me she needs the sights adjusted just a little (2 inches off at 25 yards), the vent hole enlarged some(several miss-fires), the pan deepened (The Davis Fusil lock has a very shallow pan) and the sear polished.
She is quite muzzle-light so extra concentration is needed to hold her on the mark (2 inch group at 25 yards).
With 85 grains of FFg, she stomps shoulders rather firmly and if not held high enough, the round topped buttplate wants to slip down into my armpit during recoil. (She only weighs 6 3/4 pounds).

All of these little things are easily fixed or easy to adjust too.

The Southern? with it's 1 inch octagon barrel, 10+ pound weight and Silar lock it was far from muzzle light and produced a 5 shot group you could cover with a .50 cent piece. (All were in, or touching the 10 ring). :)
