The exchange rate is probably killing them starting out at 1us to 4.50 its now at 1.53us to 2
then figure in the import/taxes/paperwork/testing etc. which never going to be less than it was. Plus they have to try to stay in the same price group as the other company's.
Euro Arms is an Import company, they don't produce in the US.

As I understand it, they were sold to Pedersoli who is, of course, the major Italian firearms manufacturer who already makes a pretty complete line of BP firearms. So the problem with them "shutting their doors" is? :idunno: Just a little less competition for the "big boy" I guess. And of course a to be expected rise in prices.

Well if pedersoli raises its prices, good ole american craftsmen can start making good money on semi custom guns right?

No kidding! You can already buy a TVM for the price of an average Pedersoli.

Arn't you guys forgetting Uberti? Owned by Berretta. Seems to me they make a ton of BP rifles, muskets and hanguns. Pedersoli isn't the be all end all of BP weapons.

hey medic302,

your's is the second post i've seen with the same statement but there is absolutely nothing on their site about any changes..

it could just be rumour and i hope it really is.. there's enough bad news floatin' around already.

 ~d~

I have seen info with verification posted on 2 other forums. One is the Civil War Reenactors forum and the other is the Authentic Campaigner forum. All by different people. There is also a rumor concerning Armisport.

if it's true and pedersoli took over operations that would be a good thing.

The only advantage I could see is if DP started remaking Parker Hale...Euroarms has the tooling

Does Uberti make rifles any more? Haven't seen them if they do.

yes they do.....but as far as I know only cartridge BP

It was also my impression that they only made breechloaders. As far as I know they've been out of the muzzleloading rifle business a looooong time.

I said in another post " in ten years it will be hard to find any production manufacturer of BP arms".
Man those ten yeards are comming fast!
But you really can see that the BP revival has come and gone.
We were lucky to be part of it.

That's a real shame. I'd a figured they would have hung in there for the 150th of Gettysburg. Although it looks as if the anniversary of the war will be totally ignored by the media.

I'm just 30 miles from Gettysburg and folks are starting to gear up for July 2013.

Euroarms was pretty much the standard for quality in Production guns. What a shame.

Still couldn't hold a candle to a Birmingham made P-H.
