now I wouldn't say quality control. Nobody's going to put a rifle out there that's got QM problems. They won't be there long as a company.
I haven't pointedly asked in Italy why but I believe its (talking around the bush)just a money thing.
This could be why Euroarms has been sold.
It is much more difficult and time consuming to produce a Barrel with progressive Rifling than normal rifleing.
The BP community is much smaller than i.e. Hunting, defense etc.
The laws have changed drastically in the last 10 years all over the world (safety, owning, storage) for privatly owned weapons.
I don't know what the laws are in the States for BP weapons but in Germany for 4-5 years it changed. It didn't matter if you had BP ML or "normal" catridge rifles you had to have a Rifle safe (tested and approved as such) if you owned a "weapon". You have to prove that go shooting in competitions and training (18 times a year). The state can come any time and check if the weapons are accordingly locked up. If they find they are not you have a felony charge. If the weapons are not locked up in a case for transport = felony charge. The powder has to be weighed and in a seperate locked box for transport with all permissions, if not = felony charge. To have powder is really an act of God and roughly costs 1200 US. Swiss made powder is cheaper in the US than here in Europe because of all the laws and paperwork. etc, etc, etc.
All the people who had ML hanging on the wall at home = buy a safe or sell.
The market dropped out and was also glutted. The exchange rate has gone in the basement.A small company like Euroarms.....it's difficult.
The only thing I can say as an outsider, not in the Company, and only 1% real actuell information is: I hope they can somehow keep going to keep DP honest, because if they don't ML just got very expensive through this sale.

i believe they hammer forged all of their barrels so i'm not sure how much cost was a factor. but i can certainly see how all the other regulations would over there! it's amazing anyone can shoot at all in europe!

believe me...thats only a small part.....If I had to do it again, I wouldn't.
Its the European way of thinking...instead of enforcing the laws that are already in place to the upmost, make new ones that make it harder for everyone.
But I don't believe I'm allowed to talk about stuff like this here.

You're absolutely right. The other European loss we've suffered is the closing of the major works in Liege/Herstal, Belgium. :(
