I just watched this video (again), and thought of the many new folks to The Muzzleloading Forum who may not have seen it, or even heard of it. It shows a master gunsmith creating a flintlock from scratch, and gives a lot of insight into the process. While the video is from 1969, there is still a gunsmith's shop at Colonial Williamsburg with master craftsmen, it's well worth a visit, just make sure it will be open when you will be there.
