Just sitin' on the porch with the Kentucky propped up beside me and the dog. When I feel like it, I let one go at the spinnin' target and smell the smoke again. Nothing better than a cool fall evening with an hour of light left, a horn full of powder, and a pile of .36 balls.
Don't cost much, specialy if you look at he cost of Prozac.
Just love the smell.

I have to agree with you. There is nothing quite like the smell of fresh gun powder on a fall evening.

At the range I shoot at there was an old timer who hung around the range just to pass the time.

When ever I set up to do some shooting he'd come over and chat a bit. He was happiest when I started shooting though.

He would always walk down and stand behind but somewhat downwind from me and breath in the smoke saying, "Nothing smells as good in the air as real black powder smoke!"

the smell of powder in the morning was what got me hooked in the first place!

How do you prop up the dog? :haha:

Just funnun' ya, sure wish I could shoot off my back porch.

I tell everyone at the ranges that I frequent that burning black powder is the smell of FREEDOM, and to BREATHE DEEP, before the Gov't figures-out how to tax the air that you breathe :shake:

Agreed. I love to open my box of regalia and breath in deep and take in all the different scents. Many good memories.
