Too late to do much good right now but the History Channel is currently showing an extremely interesting program called The Mountain Men.

I checked my satellite's guide and no other show times are listed and the History Channel's website is down at the moment. I will keep checking and post additional showtime info if I can get any.

Next tyme you see that show,,coun't how many T/C Hawkins are being shot over that log!

Frank,, are you going to be at Big Island or Owatonna?? I'll be at both,, day trip Saturday fer Big island,, and "set camp" at Owatonna 78910.

I think they go rather well with the post 1910 Victor Beaver trap and the cartridge loops in the belt worn by Hugh Glass.......

Maybe the The Mountain Men on the History Channel was not suppose to be watched by historians?

What part of MN are you from? We live in Winona County near the river.

We are seriously thinking about making a day trip to Big Island on Saturday too. We have never been there. If interested, can you name a place and time to meet. Many irons in the fire but I can verify our plans to go before Oct 2 by PM if OK with you.

Please tell me about Owatonna. Where and when is the rondy? We go to Cabela's 1-2 times a year but did not know about a rondy there.

Big Muddy in Winona from Oct 12-17. We will be along the secondary river channel. We are expecting many friends visiting us there and my wife also made 2 special brews from our cherries! :)

Sunday, Oct 10, our 20th+ (lost track) big annual party. All day backyard campfire with breakfast and dinner cooked over fire, .22 cal handgun shooting contest, informal hawk and knife throwing, hiking in our woods etc. If interested and convenient, send a PM and I can give you details.

On The Mountain Men program, I did notice a large number of Hawkins being shot and carried by all but it was nice to see and hear all that info made into a TV program. That program aired over our satellite starting at 10am CDT and I basically missed the first 40 minutes of it.

I am on dial-up and there has been a problem with it since yesterday. The History Channel's website is up again and I can get it to download but it is extremely slow. I tried searching for additional program times to no avail. My satellite's guide only goes out for one week and did not see additional show times listed there either.

I'll keep checking and post anything I find even though it sounds like the program may not be super accurate with props.

Frank, I b Stearns Co. Just a tad north a Cloudytown,,Rice they call it on hwy 10, or near abouts,,

I've met a few fellers from Mn on summa these web-sites
and,, It'd be my pleasure ta meet another.
How bout' we swap PM's an e-addies? I'll know if'n I'll get ta be at Albert Lee before Thursday pm. Big Island is "HUGE". 5000 flatlanders last year saturday alone,370 camps, and 110 traders!! (ever been to the "rennisance festival"?)
The Owatonna vous' is the week after big island and will be their 25th., just a tad east and north of Cabelas, same weekend as your shoot.:(
