In my part of the Republic of TEXAS the season doesn't close...but honestly I haven't hunted them in a while. Now I have a 20 bore SXS so I have no reason not to hunt them.

Mom always made dumplins with them if there was plenty, and added the "nuts" but not the brains. If only a pair she fried them and served with scratch biscuits and gravy. I sure do miss her.
