I had thought seriously about making one myself. But I wound up getting a decent deal and bought one at the time.

That was an impressive amount of work to make one. It turned out well too. I would have threaded the breechplug though. But otherwise it has that handmade approach that was actually used with it.

That is pretty neat and really took a good deal of time and hand work - he has every right to be proud! I enjoyed seeing the pinned breech plug - looked like a fairly permanent attachment with the countersunk riveted steel pins (and the epoxied linstock behind the breech). I might have also run some solder around the plug just to minimize gas blow back etc. Thanks for posting the linked article!
