Have you ever run into one of those people who know it all and can do it 5 times better then anyone else? I know its my falt for talking to a Swift driver, but I was making my covered wagons (tarping a flatbed load) next to him and didn't look at his truck soon enough. It made a long day longer. He told me of his normal 200 yard shots with a ball and cap. And his great 1000 yard shots (He said he could do it 9 out of 10 shots). I know it can be done but too much of this guys info was wrong.
But thats what I get for talking to a Swift driver. :shake:

I ran into one who delighted in telling me that my .451 had been sleeved and he knew who'd done it. I bought it off Peter Asquith who was a buddy of Rex Holbrook and he could recognise Rex's work :shocking:

Not sleeved at all :curse: I etched the muzzle and discovered a tape wound core to hold the rifling under a fancy damascene outer.

Shooting buddy Gordon got the sleeved Rigby when Peter sold up, sold as sleeved so no complaints. It was actually sleeved with the cut down barrel off another Rigby but not good enough for "original" competition.

Swift is a trucking outfit. You know, big white trucks with blue lettering. They also have the Wal-mart account.
I know of the swift sayings. But none I can post here.

Everytime I shave (which ain't often since I grew a beard). :haha:

1,000 yards? I thought you was talkin .220 Swift and even that was incredible, but once I deciphered the teamster talk it became outright unbelievable. 1,000 yards with a round ball and hitting anything less than a 6 foot bullseye is right fine shooting, indeed. 200 yards is nuttin to sneeze at. Lessen what's hittin your nose sets off your bull stuff detector.

He was also trying to tell me that 2f was cannons, 3f was rifle and so on. He almost got mad when I said I thought he was wrong. ::
But thats how it goes. The first person I talked to about m/l told me I could go up to 200 grains of powder. I know better know.
