Does anyone know where I can get one of those threaded brass pieces that threads into the touch hole and uses a plastic hose for flushing the barrel ? I believe my Traditions uses a 5x.8 mm thread for the touch hole liner and I'm not finding anything in that size. -Thanks

Since I don't think there is any benefit to removing a touch hole liner for cleaning, I don't want to recommend a threaded touch hole flushing kit for cleaning a flint lock firearm. For years I have gotten acceptable results using a toothpick to plug the touch hole and taking care to have the touch hole positioned so any leakage is caught in a towel or will drip away from the stock.

I will recommend the magnetic touch hole flush kit developed by Dave Criselli at the Lucky Dog. The best part of the magnetic attachment is that there is no worry about thread sizes. You do have to watch to be sure the gasket on the magnet covers up a screw slot (if present).

Here is a picture of the magnetic flush hole kit from The Lucky Dog on my King's Musket. I much prefer the magnetic kit to the screw in flush kit. To be truthful, I prefer a toothpick or a magnet with some electrical tape for a gasket to a flush kit that requires removal of the touch hole liner.
