A once in a lifetime opportunity to own a piece of history! It appears to have been taken extremely good care of. It is said that this gun was carried into battle at Gettysburg by the great grandfather of the founder of T/C and was the inspiration for their modern line of Hawken rifles. I am one of those guys that responds to these crazy ads and tries to "help" them correct their knowledge. Usually, they don't respond.
I did email them and explained that the gun was a Thompson Center and not a civil war era Hawken rifle and was probably only 30 to 40 years old at best. Like you said, no response!
