OK I need to ask this question because I wonder if such a contraption really exist?
I was looking on ebay about 2 months ago and there was this (VERY SMALL BELLOWS) :hmm:
They looked old and handmade, just like the big sizes for a fireplace. But it fit in the palm of the hand. . :hmm:
Doggoneit I wish I kept the picture of it.
They said it was to clean your flintlock rifle hole and pan???? Could this be true???
Could such a contraption be made for that use???
I saw another one on line this week and it was a French made one and it was of the 1800's for killing lice. Some type of powder posion was bellowed on the the little buggers. It too was very small too.
Just wondering???
It would be another neat accessory for flintlocking.

I guess anything could be adapted for use, it would keep a person from blowing down the barrel but I think this falls under one of those novelty ideas that seemed good at the time...

A modern version can be adapted from a lens bellows (sold at camera shops), it is tiny enough to fit in a pocket...

MM,
For that matter would'nt a can of compressed
air like you use to clean up computer keyboards,
etc serve the same purpose. If we are not worried
about being PC..... :hmm:

Safe T unloader which uses CO2, would work better....if you like that sort of thing.....

I don't think he want's it to unload a gun, just to blow a few puffs through the vent to make sure the passage is clear...

FWIW, if I was worried that I needed to have some sort of device to create pressurized air with me, personally I'd go with the 'unloader' as it would serve both purposes

Gosh, this is also so complicated, to shoot something that is not so complicated. I can hear the vent is open, when I send a patched jag down the bore. I am also glad I never developed a habit of blowing down a barrel. What if I inhaled? :winking:
