I spent about an hour on the phone with Tip Curtis yesterday. Sounds like a great guy.

He says he has over 200 in the white guns ready to ship.

I am seriously considering one of his tulles.

Why is his stuff not mentioned that much here? No website, no reviews?

Who has dealt with him? Are his products of good quality?

Oh, he's mentioned. Favorably. He sent me a Jim Chambers lock last summer when Chambers himself was 600 locks backlogged and I was in desperate need.

He's not one of the "electronically active" types and prefers the old fashioned telephone to transact business over. Vernon Davis is the same way.

They'd rather spend their time doin things and stuff instead of typin on a PC.

Longrifle maker Roger Sells referred me to Tip Curtis. I telephone ordered 60 black english flints from him. $65.50 including postage  Nice B & W photo catalog of gun kits came with order.

I told you that Tip would have 100 or more in-the-white guns available! He takes a 5 ton truckload of guns and assorted manure to Friendship for every shoot. I kid you not, it's a 5 ton at least, and it is not his intire inventory!

I and many of my close friends, have delt with Tip for many years. He is the TOTW/Log Cabin Shop/Dixons shop of the TN/southern KY area, without the computer. Remember back in the 80s when you picked up the phone and called? Tip still keeps a human contact on the other end of the electronic line!

If you call him he answers (no ignored e-mails), if he says he has something he is probably looking at it and counting the units as you speak. If he says you will have it in 5-7 days he is probably putting it in a box as he hangs up the phone.

Beside the standard stuff that everyone has Tip has oddball things in stock that most never consider. (Green Mountain .40 cal barrels 3/4" across the flats x 42" long) Like in the old days when you had to ask for it, instead of getting the standard stuff everyone has attached to the same computer key.

Besides that, he will talk you through a gun build over the phone!
