SOLD Tom Ball accurized Remington

Fillipetta 44 Remington accurized by Tom Ball at the N-SSA Nationals in the mid 80s.
All he did was rebore the cylinder and worked on the forcing cone, trigger job and timing. He did nothing to the barrel.
Just have not used it in a long time. This definitely not a full reconditioned Tom Ball pistol. This one has the silver trigger guard. A1715
It shoots a .457 ball.
I brought home several medals with this pistol.

Tom's full accurizing jobs included a new barrel he made from blanks supplied by Hoyt. They were clearly marked on the bottom flat. He offered a job where he cut an 11 deg. forcing cone, trigger job, timing, possibly a little more and since this one has the factory barrel that's probably what it got. He would do that at his booth at the Nats. Should be good shooter.

Just an FYI. The silver Trigger guard and the "A" prefix serial number indicate that this was the "Deluxe Shooter's Model" made by Pietta with the gain twist barrel. It shoots a minimum diameter round ball of .457", and many shoot a .464" diameter. I have owned three of them over the years since the early 1990's. Dixie sells the modern equivalent for around $1K last time I checked. This is a super accurate pistol, and I'm pretty sure that Tom Ball probably didn't see any reason to re-barrel it with one of his barrels. Think twice before you sell it. They are scarce and worth way more than a run of the mill 1858 Pietta Remington. My $0.02 worth. YMMV.
