I'll start with the back story. I bought my first front stuffer in 1992. A T/C Newenglander in 50. Got it from Kmart of all places, on lay away if you guys remember what that is. I was working for Uncle Sam as an E-4, newly married to my lovely understanding wife of 31 years, so extra cash wasn't something not in our vocabulary. So, I said when the finances dictate, I'll get the 12 gauge barrel to go with it. And as things go in life, there weren't that many opportunities to find one. Came across one at a gun show some years back that had more potholes inside it than Beirut. So to make a short story long, my new to me 12 gauge barrel will be here Friday between 9:45 AM and 12:45 PM. Only took 31 years, but go fishing with me some time and you'll see how patient I can be. So it will be the shotgun when squirrel season comes in this September, and the 32's when the leaves are falling. Thanks for reading!

Many thanks! I believe I have read some threads here that you yourself own one? Any suggestions on "must haves" while I get used to her?
Yes, I still have my 12 ga New Englander. Didn’t have much luck shooting RBs out of her, but I didn’t put out much effort. I get good patterns at 25-30 yards with 80 grains 2F, a 1/4” felt wad, an ounce of shot(#6), and a nitro hard card on top. Still want to try some plastic shot wads, but haven’t gotten around to it yet.

Thank you. Hopefully I can scrounge up everything in a few days and get her out shooting next week.

I love my New Englander, a fine all around hunting rifle. Mine can with the 50 and 12 gauge barrels, and I’ve since been able to pick up a 54 for it. It’s hard to beat that combo. Enjoy it!
I've cleanly killed a few deer with it back in the day. Then I went through the inline phase and the old girl sat silent for a long time. Few years ago, the bug bit me, I wound up getting a couple of side lock 32 calibers, a CVA Varminter, and a Traditions Crockett Rifle. Which I really enjoy shooting and hunting with. Then I picked up 2 C&B revolvers, 51 Navy, 60 Army in like 2 weeks. And it's all coming back what a good time I have shooting BP firearms. The new to me one is coming as a set. Maybe my son will take to it so the new girl won't just sit there..

Good things come to those who wait, congrats and enjoy.
Many thanks!

Just before 1:00 PM, the Eagle has landed. No too Jazzed about the plastic stock, but I have my original. As a side bonus, I can find no evidence either the shotgun, or rifle barrel have ever been fired.
