I was wondering if anyone had any feedback on Track's trade gun kit. I had been planning on assembling a GPR kit, but read on their website that the trade gun kit was also for beginners.

I love the looks of the trade guns and was hoping to save money for a smoothie someday so I could hunt both deer and turkey with the same weapon.

Is the track trade gun kit a good quality gun for the money and would it be an okay project for the novice or am I better served to initially go with a GPR until I have more experience building?

Any thoughts would be appreciated,

Swank

The worst aspect of this kit is that it is
not historically accurate because it is of MUCH
BETTER QUALITY than the original trade guns

The barrel is the same as their Tulle gun
( BBL 20-42 ) I like the 44" barrel by Coleraine
better .

The metal parts are very good , you may want to
make a few cosmetic changes on the lock for PC

I had few problem with the stock that warped
a little but got over it with the help of the people
on this , and other forums .

I am happy with the result , it is a good
value for the money .

All the guys I shoot with have smoothies. Most of the guns were purchased in the white either from Danny Caywood or Jacky Brown, all were easy to complete. One guy bought a TOW and it took him forever to complete it. Not being disrespectful to TOW butttttttttttttt. If you have limited experience and tools I wouldn't buy one. :m2c:

It is not too bad, however you do have to solder the barrel lugs and sight on, fit the breech plug, drill and tap all the holes, fit the metal parts, also forward of the lock panel is left square, you have to shape it. Mine works great. My only regret is that I did not shell out the extra money for a walnut stock, that would have been more authentic.
