Touch Hole Size ?

Are you going to use friction primers or cannon fuse?

I am thinking cannon fuse.

I drill mine 1/8 inch and use 1/8 inch cannon fuse.
They make smaller fuse but it isn't as stiff and don't work as good in a larger barrel.

1/8 is fine for little cannons, for larger cannons like this No more than .200 as the originals, but 4/5 mm/.177/no. 16 drill is better.

You will find this size cannon is better shot with quill or friction primer than fuse. It still can be shout with fuse.

You also want the vent hole to be slightly larger than the fuse. To tight a vent will make it difficult to set the fuse into the charge.

Regulation size for civil war cannon vents is 1/4", which was meant mainly for friction primer use.
