TOW Bucks County Rifle Kit Update #21

I should call this Track of the Wolf Bucks County Rifle Kit update, "The Good, The Bad & The Ugly."

Some things came out pretty good...some not so good...Some came out downright ugly.


So, here’s what’s going on in this video:

I’ll layout the lock plate and side plate moldings on to the stock of the Track of the Wolf Bucks County rifle kit.

First I'll show you how I determined the size and shape of the molding.

Then I'll make a plastic template and transfer it to the stock.

After that I'll carve the molding and profile the stock around the trigger guard.

At the end I'll fix one of my mistakes”¦that I’d have been better off leaving as it was.

Your working on it is the main thing Mr. B. two videos in a week! Keep it up it helps seeing you work on yours so I know what not to do :haha: and what to do! Your Drilling jig for the drill press has been a MAJOR help on my build.

Mr. B, sorry if that sounded harsh up above I was just poken fun with you, I would not be attempting my build if not for you and your videos. One thing I notice watching the videos, the only time you seem to really cause yourself problems is using the rasp. Watching you work, it "Looks like" your rotating the angle when you rasp a good bit when working the wood, not staying at the same angle during the cuts. Could be just the way it shows up on camera also. I know cabinet scrapers are slower and dont fit everywhere but might try them on the next one.

Duelist: I noted something in your video. When you removed the trigger guard I saw that you had it pinned front and back. If you had studied Bucks County details before starting work you would have noticed that they were (in all cases I've seen) fastened with a screw at the rear. It would have saved you some inletting and time.

Just making a point that, if you're building to a particular "school", study the fine points.
