Since you are in southern Kentucky, Northern Tennessee's zoos should also be checked as well...

People have exotic pets that get too big for them to handle and turn them loose, this could also be the case with your track...

Now, how to deal with it? :hmm:

When I lived out west I had one that came through my rock twice a year, it never bothered my stock so I let it alone,, Same will go for here, It leaves me and mine alone,, it will sea nother sun rise,, Thats the way it should be,, don't you agree ??

Hey Huntin Fool:
There are all kinds of cougar sightings for Grant County area of WVa. They even got an organization set up for this stuff up there now. Map of sightings and all. Also some rumor that some were released in the Cave Mountain area of Pendleton Co. I know two people up my way up there that claim to have seen 'em.

Yes, to an extent...

Only I would not wait for it to draw first blood...

Who makes a couger live trap?

I would not wait for it to draw first blood

That's on my mind,, only thing slowin me down is my horses never tryed to get out, that tells me a lot,, My horse is used to critters, and will leave when it's time, NOTHIN moves round him he don't know bout,, he showes me stuff hidin on the trails,, full camo hunters too, I only use barbless wire and they both can go thru it, he can go over it if need be, I do believe they both would fight first, they take care of there space, There not what you would call "stable Horses" They have temperment,, and a cat don't want to get hurt, as long as it ain't hurt to start with I think we will be ok,, there is a lot of deer and cattle round here,, that will be the first to go,, When that happens,, I'll load up,,

Who makes a couger live trap?

if it will go into it....ya can use a bear trap tube like trap where the end door will drop down when triggered...........bob

I've seen em in by back yard here in Georgia..also the cat that made it. I believe they travel from the swamps to the mountains in the spring and back to the swamps in the fall...it was september when I saw one step out in front of my truck at 11:15 pm.Saw another about three years ago...told my wife it was a dog; but with the big tail I don't think she believed me. .the local fish and game people kinda keep it quiet

I don't know why, but to sea a yote runnin cross the pasture with a horse on it's tail tryin to get a bite of it's backside is really funny, and we have a lot of yotes here,, I sea no tracks of there's round the water hole ,,

Hey Hobbles,

I saw an article on Outdoors Unlimited about a cougar that was hit by an automobile in western KY about a month or so ago!

The same article also told of the WV DNR comfirming cougar tracks in WV. Maybe the big cats are doing as the coyotes have done migrated to where there's deer aplenty! They're getting tired of eatin Kalifornian moutain bikers!

Chuck :front:

I imagine the Kalifory kitty population is more'n the avaliable land mass will support, so they are movin' east. "Just follow them 'yotes boys, they'll take us to the land of milk and poodles."

Here are some cougar track pics from the web:

Looks like a kitty to me.

Varmint-callers call them up all the time, a mile from the central Texas town where I'm originally from, with wounded-rabbit calls.

Went deer hunting out by Johnson City Tx one time, didn't get much sleep that night, wind blowing hard and rattling the nylon tent all night, sounded like something brushing alongside it. Woke up the next morning and there was a bare spot 2 feet square scraped in the ground about 10 feet behind the tent, series of 4 claw marks an inch deep, and a cougar track beside it. Maybe it wasn't just the wind....

Sent that link for fun and to stir up conversation. True or not....with computers today you can make anything, well just about anything look good!! The webs full up of 'em. Have fun!! :: (You can pretty much tell by the pictures
the cats already dead).

Bein meat eaters, them cats don't like Kalifornian bikers. They is mostly nuts and flakes. :haha:

Trouble is most cats seem to have to find that out by themselves. I guess they think the other cats is lion'.
