Maybe you ran into my wife's bother-in-law? Bob? Christmas just wouldn't be Christmas without that *******.

Mike:
Don't waste your $650 on a TOW kit! You are'nt that far from (price) from a Jim Chambers kit. I've heard nothing but good things about Jim. His rifle comes with a Getz barrel. I would seriously consider a Haynes style rifle with a 38 inch swamped Getz barrel.

I agree. I probably didn't mention that the Chambers kit was my first choice but my wife had already ordered the TOW from my notes. Her heart was in the right place and I'm happy with what I got.
Don Getz will also cut your rear sight dovetail for you if you tell him where you want it.

What I did was to buy a walnut plank, if you have trouble locating walnut let me know and I will give you the number of a mill in Arkansas, and a piece of 1/4" press board. Used the press board for a pattern, used the Track of the Wolf photos for a guide and carved a walnut stock. It looks like a first gun, but it is personal and it shoots and although I have about $400 invested I have the experience and I could restock the barrel, trigger and lock if I wanted to.

Its this ramrod problem that I am working on now.
