Traditional Patched Ball Hunters: Rifle or Smoothbore this fall?

I'll be using a rifle for deer, coyotes, and squirrels, and a smoothbore for dove, crows, rabbits, etc.

My big game season is over, but hunted with .54 Lancaster. I'm currently hunting BUNNIES and GROUSE with my .32, both with patched ball.
