Battle Hawk Armory has them, 12" barrel adjustable sights, brasser, walnut grip. $317.91, $19.99 shipping, no sales tax at least for PA buyers.

I know Traditions are made by Pietta and I swore to never buy another Pietta since my last one but this is an interesting handgun at a good price, Bud's is $345.99 $12.00 shipping plus PA 6% tax...I decided to give Pietta another try...fingers crossed!

Just checked, they are "in stock".

They'd be much better if Pietta still sold the stocks for them

For $320ish though, why not.......it looks like a fun range toy

I believe Dixie has the Pietta 12" Buntlines for $315 or something, that's where I got mine

I just checked out Dixie and did not see one on there.

That is not the same revolver. "North Fork's" link is to the same revolver. Dixie price $385. That was the same price I saw at other sites too. Bud's had what appeared to be the lowest price until I saw Battle Hawk's Traditions FR185812 1858 Bison Break Open 44 Cal #11 Percussion 12' 6rd Brass Frame Blued Barrel & Cylinder Walnut Grip
Yes I know , it's the 'Buntline"

I was just offering a link to the other Pietta with the 12" barrel in case someone liked that one better for $315

For what it is worth, I own 1 of each. So far they have been fine pistols.

Edit- But I like 'brassers' even if the vast majority are not historically correct. I just like 'em.

I love brassers too, when I saw Dixie came back in stock with those 12" .44 Navies I ordered one. I with they still sold the stocks, but it's still fun to shoot. Mine shoots great at 50 yards, the long sight radius makes it easy to aim.

I agree. I would like to have a couple of those stocks myself.

They go for double the original price now, Pietta stopped selling them. I think they contracted with another gun maker to make them , and for some reason decided to stop offering them

The Bison and Buntline kinda need the stock , I find my Buntline awkward to shoot and I often hit low from dipping the barrel. Not because it's heavy it's just that it's just nose heavy enough to be a bit awkward . I made a "soft stock" for it

quite honestly I like my 8" 1858 better than my 12 inch. the sights on the Bison are decent but its an unwieldly piece and would be much better with a shoulder stock providing the length of pull was decent.

I agree. I bought mine to shoot from the bench. I couldn't imagine trying to hold that long barrel steady!
