This rifle has been the subject before. Most agreed it is a nice looking rifle, but way too pricey. Especially for only a hard wood stock. If I remember right, the price was over $700. That's more than a T/C Hawken and way more that a Lyman GPR. Traditions is going to have to come down in price, is they want this to be a big seller. Just my thoughts.

the add posted says it has a 32 in barrel then says it has 28 in barrel---can't even get their add straight--

If it is the old Austin and Halleck Mountain Rifle.
I hope they improved the flint lock. on the old ones the jaw screw hit the Frizen before the flint.

I talked with Traditions at the SHOT show. Their new gun IS the Austin & Halleck, built on Austin & Halleck parts, etc. The only difference is they're not rust browned and the finish they're using is horrible. It looks exactly like parkerizing.

Griz, I have their flinter and I haven't had any problems with the jaw screw hitting the frizen. They did have some quality control issues though, so I wouldn't put it past them to have sent a few out like that.

This is the same gun and I have 3 of them in perc .50 roundball twist and they shoot great but you need a higher back sight , to use the one that came with the A&H you had to file the front sight down to little or nothing.
