I'm refurbishing an old Traditions kentucky rifle and dropped one of the two brass end cap screws. Naturally,
it hit the floor, bounced under the bench, or out the window and am trying to locate a replacement.
A #6 machine screw is to small and 8 too big. I measured the remaining one's diameter at .15 in. or 3.81mm. Anybody know of of
a replacement source without spending 1/2 the value of the gun for shipping, or should I just re-tap the hole for #8 threads? I realize this dumb and anal, but......

Deercreek products has a nose cap screw for CVA Kentucky rifle. Traditions rifles are pretty close in comparison. Maybe it will work for you. Only 2 bucks plus shipping.

Both CVA and the newer traditions use metric screws. Take the one you have to your local hardware to get a match or call Deercreek

When I search with the magnet, I often seen the missing part before the magnet gets anywhere near it. With the magnet I in hand, I tend to do a better job of looking and moving other things out of the way.

Put a cloth bag on hose of vacuum and vac like you are spring cleaning. Dump bag in a pan and I'll bet you will find it.

Bought replacements at my local Hardware store. Take the one you have with you to match thread size. Buy 4 to have spares.
