Has anyone added an adjustable tang sight to a traditions Kentucky rifle. I want to put one calibrated for several distances.

I once put a T/C ladder/vernier tang sight on a T/C Hawken and she'd shoot one ragged hole 5-shot groups at 50-yards. It certainly can be done ... but knowing your load and accuracy works otherwise too, with a fixed sight.

The muzzleloader will be used to shoot a 4 distances. It will be best to have an adjustable rear sight with those distances marked. I have not found a sight made for that rifle. But I'm thinking that another can be made to work.

Or you just learn through practice the various sight pictures needed to hit on target at those distances.

I had the same idea decades ago... I abandoned the idea.....to many problems to fix. The angle of tang drop didn't match any of the sights I could find so some custom milling would have had to be done, as well as finding or making a metric tang screw so that hole could be utilized.
And they weren't allowed at most of the shoots.
