Thinking about getting one of these kits because I like the double set triggers but wanted to hear from those of you who have this pistol, and preferably those of you who have built the kit.

I just started one of these. I have an older kit but I assume not much has changed. So far it's just like putting together a CVA. Parts just don't exactly line up or fit perfectly so some minor rework and adjustment is in order. Especially in the lock and barrel inletting. Can it be put together out of the box? Yes, but it will look abit crooked and sloppy. Or atleast thats the way mine was.

Thanks, that sounds a lot like the Traditions Hawken kit I completed a while back. If it wasn't sloppy out of the box that would take all the fun out of doing a kit gun, in my opinion.

If you already built the Hawken, then you know what to expect. Same quality type, just a different style. I just finished properly fitting all the parts and bedded the lock and barrel in. Should turn out nice when finished.

You are absolutely correct. That would be a little bit like what the old time gun smiths had to go through.
