Great time at the Winter Nationals. Learned a lot watching the other shooters and came home with a new pet. A Traditions William Parker .50.

I got it at a good price because I traded off the Pedersoli Kentucky that I had. I couldn't get use to the flintlock and wanted another capper.

Fun to shoot with a nice load of 25 grains FFF Schutzen. I used .495 balls and .15 patches and got decent 25 yard results. Like every other BP pistol I have a long way to go to develope the best load.

The Parker definately shoots better than my Trapper kit gun but I'm sure I can get it to do much better also.

Dejavous!
I have not shot my trapper since I got my billy parker! I'm shooting .492(actual home cast) with an .015 patch over 20 gr 3f for 35 yard targets and grouping under 2 1/2 inches. 25 and under I shoot 15 gr and get the same results and sight picture.
The parker I feel, has a better grip and findind "the" grip that works for you is a key issue.
I feel guilty for not shooting the trapper any more and its a shooter in its own right!

thats the best part of owning one of each you can choose which ever and not worry about it i thought that was rule #3 of haveing more than one type of pistole ,( or rifle) :rotf: but im sure there many other rules care to list a few. :haha: :haha:

Dangit, now you 2 are making me wanna buy one! I love my Trapper, but if the Parker shoots better... :)

Well, I'm doing a gun show this weekend, so maybe I'll earn enough to buy one. Or better yet, maybe I'll run into one at the show for a good price. Did a show 2 weekends back and ended up spending $300 more than I earned! Either I'm a lousy businessman or gun shows aren't the business for me. Too much temptation! :rotf:

It looks to be a solid performer from the impressive group Steven posted. Good looking gun too.
