made this little knife from a trap spring the blade is 4-1/2"x1" the( oal)is9" the scales are from a thick piece of cow horn, takes and holds an edge well and weighs very little a perfect size personal knife now to find a large trap spring and make a big brother for it----- :rotf:

just had a big box of oregon shed horns given to me and have an OLD 5" jaw double spring trap that I was thinking of doing the same thing. You just rekindled my desire!
