I found some black powder for sale marked "Travelers Swiss " and "Travelers Scheutzen " and it's listed as being in stock yet regular Swiss and Scheutzen show as out of stock
Anyone here know the difference? By the way. it's at a place in Texas called Travelers Antiques.

They are good people to do business with.

He goes to Arlington to buy his powder. He was buying in bulk and packaging it.

recently bought from them. good people to work with, great price

I ordered 10 pounds from them a few months ago, they had a “deal” at the time. I noted that the box could have easily held 12 pounds. I would have gladly paid for the other two pounds since the shipping and hazmat would have been about the same.

I just tried to add those to a cart at the site and they came up out of stock.
I asked the lady how much for the hazmat and she said $75.00. Also, said they don't take phone orders. They were out of stock using one link but when I pushed the link at the top of the page that said "black powder", a completely different picture of all white boxes came up. Available in Swiss 2f and all grades of Scheutzen. She said " Travelers " was same powder but in a different package. It was $275 for 10 lbs. Plus $75.00 hazmat + shipping.

75.00 hazmat is more than a bit much, generally it runs more like 30 bucks.

The highest I've ever seen is $39. Many larger suppliers offer reduced hazmat at times around $19, or $20. $75 is kinda hard to swallow.
Unless I was really desperate for powder I wouldn't pay that price.
I normally get mine from Graf and sons and they don't charge anywhere close to 75 bucks.

I just checked at Graf's, and their Hazmat is now $23.95 which is an increase. I bet Graf's has more leverage with Fed-Ex than a small company like Traveler's.

That said, I'm glad I have plenty of powder right now. I can wait and drive to Maine Powder House when supplies stabilize, for far less than $75...assuming they ever do.

I checked earlier today Graf's has no powder in stock. Maine Powder House does but they require a 5 lb minimum order.

That's quite a price difference! The lady on the phone seemed to think that FedEx was trying to make it difficult for us shooters to get powder.
