Hey everyone
This weekend at rendezvous as my only escape from the sun, I bought a the least expensive cap I could find, a wool hat blank.
Now that I'm home, I want to make it into a tricorn hat. The gentleman who sold me the hat showed me the way to fold the brim and explained about the hatband, cockade and ribbon edging
I just saw some with ribbons holding the hat brim in place, and even some with brass and pewter button. What is the correct way of doing this? I have a pretty good idea, but want to be sure I'm doing it right the first time
I guess I need the help of any 18th century hat specialists on the forum here, or be pointed in the direction of an online source for the information I need
Thank you
