I posted this also on the percussion forum:

I have a Pedersoli Kodiak that I bought from one of the fine members of this forum. Its a great rifle and I love it (Thanks DF! ).

I'd like to get a little work done on it to improve it. I'd like to get the locks/triggers smoothed out (they are a little creepy) and also to get better express sights on it (toying with a peep though...). Any recomendations for the work? Or for working on the locks myself?

Thanks!

You can do all/most of this yourself with ceramic slip stones or very fine automotive sandpaper (600-1000 grit). Smooth and polish everything and this can make a huge difference in the performance. Sights are fairly easy to replace, too. A brass punch and a small hammer to tap them out and tap the new ones in. Just remember, that in some cases the dovetails are one way, in other words, they are a bit wider at one edge, to ease removal and insertion.
