Trigger problems

I was recently adjusting my triggers on my percussion muzzeloader which has double set triggers and I noticed that if I push forward on the back of the rear trigger it causes hammer to fall. I don't know if this is normal and what cause it. If it is not normal does someone please know how to fix it. I have been afraid to shoot knowing if I bump the rear trigger I could possibly accidently fire the gun.

What make of muzzleloader and what make of triggers. Kind of a black box until we know that.

The gun is custom but the lock the trigger is causing to go off is a cv hawken percussion lock.

Most triggers might do this. The back trigger bar has to hit the sear bar to fire the lock. Is it tight against the sear bar? There should be a little slack before the trigger bar hits the sear bar. To put some slack in it drill a hole for a 4-40 screw in the the trigger plate under the apex of the mainspring and adjust it to raise the spring a little. A shim will work but the screw is more adjustable. This will let the spring sort of throw the trigger into the sear bar but not ride against it.

It is perfectly normal for the rear trigger to move far enough forward to trip the lock sear when the rear trigger is not set.

That's how it works.
If its top blade couldn't freely reach the locks sear arm with its blade, it couldn't release the lock.

This is a real good reason to keep your fingers away from the rear trigger when the front trigger is pulled. It can damage anything it hits.
