Yes, you can lighten the main springs. But how light do you want it? Are you trying to shoot RB's out of it? I simply ask because shotgun triggers are slapped and not squeezed when shooting flying targets.

Answered my question, I'll get used to the pull instead of messing around with springs and messing something up I dont understand...yet. Yes Historian, I'm shooting at flying objects, was hoping to get the pull closer to my unmentionable guns.

Yes, shotgun triggers are slapped, but the amount of trigger pull is still an issue. 3-4 lbs is about typical for a field gun. Competition unmentionables are generally lighter than that. 8 pounds is too much!

Brit Smoothy gives excellent advice on a correct way to adjust the pull, I had assumed that the sear springs were made long and meant to be fitted. (Gunsmiths correct the trigger pulls on SxS guns by polishing and/or changing the angle on the sear. Experience and a precision tool bench count! I take my Henry Egg to a Dickson trained gun smith when its trigger pulls get too light.)

However, i have run into some curiously wrong ways to "adjust", or rather screw up, the trigger pulls on the Pedersoli SxS. Tightening, that is over tightening, the bridle screws generally increases the trigger pull, even to unacceptable levels--well over 8 pounds. So, if you feel that your trigger pulls are too much, I would recommend experimenting with backing off the bridle screws, notable the one that asses through the sear. (I did a bunch of this after getting caught in a fierce rain squall. In the process of drying everything out and reassembling the gun, I discovered a huge range of trigger pulls before I had it returned to normal-3-4 lbs.)
