Property line measurements are a key. Noise. You don’t have to deal with dust issues like ag does. But basically the same type attack

Makes me think of Briscoe Darling's conversation with Mayberry Sheriff Andy Taylor about dealing with pesty neighbor Ernest T. Bass. Briscoe looked at Andy and matter of factly stated "Thought about killin' 'em, kinda hated to go that far." Barney piped up with 'It's wise man who doesn't take the law into his own hands". Briscoe looked at Andy and asked "Is he one of ours?" $adly a lawyer my be needed, good luck dealing with your pests.

Thank you all for the replies. We have had two meetings so far. Both had a lot of support for the range. The two people who want the range closed . Never said a word an they only post anonymous online about the range.
The bad news is we have a new township board coming in. All liberals.!
Your HOSED, now on two fronts . These types have no life , nothing but time on their side, and hate what ranges stand for. Best wishes for your success.

I bought nearly 20 acres next to me to prevent such a scenario. We have a range in a small gravel pit on my original property that is adjacent to the 20. Lawyer fees would probably exceed the 100K+ I spent. As I am nearing 3/4 of a century in age my patience has worn thin with whiners. Have a neighbor, ( a peaceful guy), that used to drink to excess, he was noted for shooting into some of his junk cars late at night. Nobody in the neighborhood bothered to call him out for it. Live and let live. Funny how inconsiderate and intolerant Liberals are.

I've noticed lack of consideration for others is like an epidemic in society these days, and regardless of politics. There were some guys at the range a week or so I could tell a story about. Who I'm pretty sure weren't liberals, and I'm definitely sure weren't taught by their parents to be considerate. Evidence of that "me first and me only" attitude only just STARTED by them parking their pickup in front of the gate marked by a "No Parking for Emergency Vehicle Access" sign and subsequently went downhill from there.

We have a small public gun range. It has been in use for 50 plus years. No issues an no problems. Now because of a couple of people that moved to our area recently from California. They want it closed because of noise and lead contamination.
Any legal non violent suggestions ? Anyone else have to deal with this ?
Maybe Trump will deport them back to California. :D

In PA, ranges have a State law grandfathering them in. A sportsmen's association I know of way out in "the sticks" had newby housing come in and try to shut it down! It's still there. Another range I'm with recently had a major lead clean up of the shotgun ranges; lots of lead there! CA is one sick puppy of a State!

Do people around there get their water from wells, or a public water system? If the former, then the complainers may have legal standing. Has the groundwater been tested? I live in a red state where industry has been basically unregulated. I had to install an $8,000 well water filtration system because the ground water is highly contaminated. It's a problem statewide. Politicians have passed legislation giving industry immunity from lawsuits in regards to ground water contamination. It's the nature of living in a red state.

I used to fly for the military. We used to do night landing practice at an old remote WW2 airfield in a red state. Developers bought up land around the airfield and built a huge housing development, right up to the airport fence under the landing approach path. Our new neighbors tried to shut down the airfield due to jet noise that went on until 2 a.m. When that didn't work, the gun nuts started exercising their 2nd Amendment rights and shooting at us during our landing approaches.

There will always be nut cases who don't do their due diligence before moving in somewhere. Let them spent their money fighting you. Start a GoFundMe legal defense fund.

Club I'm in is on govt property and they go in periodically and "harvest" lead from the berms and recycle it somehow. Maybe that could placate the snowflakes. Noise is another matter; tough....
