how do gents. Any of you fine caliber fellers know of, or have a good source of not so expensive Triple Seven. Best price I have found is 14.95 per pound at Dixie Gun Works but you can only buy it in their store, they will not ship. So, to avoid a 14 hour round trip drive, I thought I would take a chance that some of you fellers might know of a source, cheap, will ship. Appreciate any info.

Watch for your local Wally World to put their remaining stock on after season clearance. Buy a years supply.

Wally world will sometimes have it on clearance after deer season so ya might find it there. If not 777 then they also sell the pyrodex and it is usually cheaper. The real black powder is not as hard to clean as some folks would let you believe and it is less corosive than the pyrodex.

Not only has my Wally world stopped carrying rifles, they have NO BP supplies at all! Just a few of the more common modern rifle and pistol rounds. :cursing:

I got a can for $7 at Wally World when the clearanced out their stock after the season. I only bought one just to try it.

There must be gold in that stuff that does not appear until they put it in pellet form. At the Dicks store last week they wanted 25 dollars for 100 of the 50 grain pellets! That is a lot of money to pay for convenience!

If I could find some of these ole boys in my area that wanted to split a 50# package of 777, I would make that 14 hour turn around up to Union City, TN and bring it back. Any takers....

$25/100 for 50 gr pellets. Still 25 bucks for 5000 grains of powder. 760 grains short of a pound. 25 cents a pellet and 15 pellets shy a pound. Then If you have to add $20 for hazmat and then shipping. Pretty high dollar shooting in my liitle book. But then, what's a few dollars when you're having fun.

Squirrel Dog you better go back to the good old real stuff. I just got 25# of GOEX set on my front step for $11.75 a pound Thats hard to beat for a lot of fun.
Fox :hatsoff:

I don't remember the exact price I paid, but I picked up 777 at Gander Mtn. I usaully only use Goex, but I didn't have the time on that occasion to make the 1 hr 15 min road trip to pick up my BP. Noone near me carries BP anymore, and all they carry on any of the other substitutes are the pellets....no loose. I was lucky to find the 777 in powder form to begin with. I think one of the reasons for this, is I am the only hunter I know that DOESN'T use a in-line in my area....just a thought.

Thanks Blacky.. Will certainly check out Gander mtn. Cheapest I have found any is $17.50 but to get over the hump of the HazMat fee you have to order a bunch of it. Cabella's has it for 24.99 plus HazMat plus shipping. Still waiting for Black Mag3 to go back into production. Best I ever used. Muzzle velocity is not as tight as I would like, but certainly tolerable. And its a dream to shoot. But would have to drive to Richmond VA go get any today. Well, off to bed for me, have early git up and appointment with my forked foot on my lease at daybreak tomorrow.
