I was reading here on the forum about holsters and stocks for the Traditions Trapper flintlock and have a question. On the Trapper the rear sight is affixed with single screw, and adjusted by an allen head set screw. On mine the sight has has worked loose (probibly from shooting so much) and I can not tighten it enough any more to secure it to the gun. I have tried using a brass washer under the screw but, while it works,(kinda) it does not look as good as I'd like it to. Has anyone out there had this problem ? Does anyone out there have a better idea on how to fix the sight ? I love shooting my trapper but I am frustrated with the rear sight.

Peen the dovetail on the barrel down.
A few light taps with a small hammer should do.

The second way is to use a small pointed punch and make several small divots on the base of the dovetail to raise the metal and keep the sight in place.

Sorry it took me so long to reply but I've been out of town. The dovetail is tight, it was the screw that was the problem. I thank you for your help.
