Does anyone know if there is a bullet starter avaliable that is like the true-starter thompson center used to sell years ago, it's a device that you place on the end of your barrel and the bullet goes into it and through it to line it up vertically with the bore, used for conicals. Any of these things around anymore?

I've seen them come up on ebay rarely. I have seen homemade versions also. It would not be that difficult to cobble one together. By the latter 19th century many rifles came equipped for both conicals and round ball. Muzzle starters were supplied with the rifle as well as the molds for the projectiles.

The TC true starter works very well for starting a conical. I've used them with my hunting loads. Today you can buy TC 4n1 loaders which not only start like a true starter, but also hold your powder and cap. These work very well when hunting. It keeps the stuff you are carrying down to a min.
