Does any one have any pics or info on the shape of the finial on these? round, pointed, square???? all of the above....circa 1730 plain iron mounted hunting gun type, the tg and buttplate are round I suspect the thimble finial would be the same but do not have a pic of an original.

Pioneer Press has a full size line-drawing by Kit Ravenshear titled "Les Fusils au Roi 1717 - 1747" that might be worth hunting up. It covers the variations of the four models, 1717, '28, '34 and '46 including details of the locks and furniture.
