How is a call made from turkey wingbones?
OK, Supermarket bird. I took off the raw wings, removed as much meat as I could, boiled them for a little while, cleaned them a bit more, salted to help drying and to slow spoiling.
They should probably dry a couple of days, and then I guess the ends are cut off and the marrow removed.
Now, here are the questions, how should I set up the ends to fit together? If the softer, reddish material is removed, there is a sort of flared end. Is this large end kept to make a joint? An end can be reduced to fit inside the other. Or are the large ends cut off, and then smaller diameter ends joined?
I figure 5 min. epoxy as the adhesive for now.
Thank you, Woodbutchert
