And yeah, Frontier seemed pretty lame in the couple of episodes that I tried to watch... :shake:

I tried to like it and can overlook a lot of inaccuracies so long as it's entertaining and has a solid story, but 'Frontier' just lost me at the end... Part of that was probably due to taking a break 6 episodes in for a few weeks as work requirements got in the way. In any event I watched all but the last episode. I just couldn't bring myself to care what happens.

I just find it interesting how many history nazi's can completely dismiss perfectly good movies/shows like 'The Revenant' because the costuming is off or the history isn't accurate but have no problem with the dialogue or mannerisms being wrong. As long as the story is engaging and the film entertaining I can overlook most inaccuracies. I'll note them and point them out (don't ever sit down to watch 'Braveheart' with me) but I'll enjoy to story for what it is, warts and all...

I made it 2 episodes for Frontier and just couldn't take the manure any more. By far the worst historically-inspired (and the term is used in its most loose sense) show ever. Lame hardly describes it appropriately...

That said, if you are making a show about a historical figure whose story is well-documented and known, it is best to stick with the facts.

Well, just finished season 3 of TURN, still don't know who won. What were all these british people doing over here anyhow, didn't anyone ever check the immigration status of anyone, ever.

This past Monday & Tuesday they had an auction of props used in the Turn series. Mrs Coot & I went to the preview & were interested in a number of the 1000? lots offered. Got out bid on most but will be picking up some pewter plates & and candlesticks and ladder back chairs tomorrow (with high forecast to be 100 just to make it more fun). Apparently Benedict Arnold forgot to pack his redcoat so it was in the auction as well.

Meh I think the British will win.

Although it does Sound like Washington is going to trap Clinton in New York with the French fleet and ignore Cornwallis who is running his large army around near Norfolk and Yorktown and threatening Richmond and Petersburg. Le Comte de Rochambeau and Lafayette have no clue and will not be a factor in the war.

Also Arnold and Simcoe is sure to capture and execute Woodhull. Arnold may see statues of himself built all over the colonies very soon!

Ginger Snaps was better and had werewolves

I did indeed enjoy watching the many deaths of Simcoe.
Really a smart move by the production. The character is so despicable so watching him die in agony a few times in the dream sequences helps break the tension.

Although it's not historically accurate, Simcoe's character makes for one of the best villains in television history. Samuel Roukin does an excellent job in his portrayal of a man who can be at turns courteous and chivalrous, brilliant and homicidally psychotic.
The historical Simcoe is a Canadian hero who was the first Lieutenant-Governor of Upper Canada.
