That's what I thought too. They don't give to many close ups of the weapons used. I'd love to see them get that right.....just once! But, as I've said before, I've enjoyed the show, and will look forward to next year.

the only close up I've seen is of the dueling pistols, which looked like early 19thC Mantons. They also really looked like originals. So I can give a pass on that.

It's noteworthy that they actually recognized the distinction between Muskets and "PA Rifles" in the last episode. Also alluding to their somewhat unique nature at the time.

If you pause it right Roberts is clearly carrying a Jaeger rifle or a shortish transitional rifle. Which I think would be appropriate. So that's also nice to see.

I liked it but i have to agree about the audio level and its moving slow right now.
Clicking the "Add Post" button only once is sufficient.

Sorry about that was having phone issues that night smart phone wasn't being so smart. I really like this show. Especially liked the trial with the loading of the rifle.

Given the total lack of historical content on broadcast TV, I am glad for anything short of cowboys and aliens.

There isn't much about US history that hasn't been exploited for the media. Perhaps Lewis and Clark, or Cresap's War. The lost colony of Roanoke Island.

A docu-drama about Rogers would be interesting. Even perhaps the ill-fated attempts to invade Canada in the War of 1812.

Even though the character is not an accurate historical portrayal of the real man, I rather enjoy the character of CPT Simcoe. He's one evil and sarcastic SOB.

You think he is evil in Turn???

Watch Hell on Wheels.....

Very good final episode  I really do like the wild eyed Simcoe. He makes a great bad guy along with Rogers. I hope the series returns in the Fall.

That makes TWO of us.= This one I like.
(It's about time that US TV networks start making shows that can compete with the best of BBC, imVho.)

yours, satx

Just a thought here. I remember back in the 1960's some weird sci fi show called Star Trek was cancelled after a half season. Fans went nuts on the network and were so vocal that they brought the show back, and between spin offs and revamps, it is still on several times a day here.

Let the network, AMC, and the sponsors know that you like the show. It ensures that the show goes on, as well as makes them more interested in production of similar genre projects.

The only current broadcast tv show with a hint of anything remotely interesting is Crossed Bones.

It will probably go the way of Crusoe, which I also liked.

As mentioned in an earlier post, Mrs Coot worked as an extra in the series. The "inside" word is that they are checking on availability for shooting a second season this Aug thru Dec. As others have mentioned, letting the network know that a second season would be desired is not a bad idea. I certainly would not want to see any historically based show replaced by another 'un'reality show.

i'll admit you had me going there. but after a brief interweb search simcoe's actor is not the same guy as "the swede" from hell on wheels. both are equal dirty SOB's though
