Many of the low end barrels such as the Green Mtn. shoot OK. I also have some GM tubes from my learning years with M/L. The Rice and Getz barrels as other high grade barrels will take more heat without patch damage and deliver accuracy down range better than most high production barrels. Just remmber their is a reason for the quality barrels.

"You're right excess; just checked "The Book" and here in PA it's 40 cal. and smaller for small game. Thanks for the heads up. Was actually starting to think 45 cal."

I'm going to use my .45 for small game anyway. :cursing: I used my .50 percussion for years as it was the only MLer that I had. Its not as if I was taking a lot of shots anyway.

Think I'm steering towards a 36 cal. at this point. Have a 50 cal.flint GPR for deer and such and I need a 40 cal or less for small game here in PA to keep things "legal". A 32 may well be too small for critters a bit larger then squirrel so it looks like a 36 cal. Poor Boy type will be what I'm looking into.

Hey you guys have been a great help and a wealth of info. Thanks so much and I'll keep you informed as to what I might end up with.
