Does anyone know by chance what the twist rate on the Dikar Kentucky .45 cal (early CVA) was? It certainly seems greater than 1:66 or even 1:48, though I not a great judge of such things and I haven't measured it - just thought someone might know.
Cheers

I think they were 1-66" but you can tell for sure by running a tight fitting lubed patch on a jag down the barrel. Then make a mark on the rod in line with the front sight and even with the muzzle. Now slowly pull the rod out until the mark makes 1/4 turn from the front sight. Now measure from the muzzle to the mark and multiply that number by 4. If it is 12" then you have a 1-48" twist, if it is 16 1/2" it is a 1-66" twist, etc.

Rebel, I had to print those instructions the last time you posted them. That is some of the most useful information that I've read on the forum. Thanks again.

I used your technique Rebel (so simple and effective) and you were right - it is 1:66. Many thanks.

Yep, that's one of those slap your forehead with the palm of your hand, Why didn't I think of that? simple things to know about.
