Two-band Enfield

A while back, a local gun shop had a Parker-Hale 1858 Two-Band Enfield. Before I could work up the cash, it vanished. Spotted it back on the shelf the other day. Turns out, the shop owner pulled it because he wasn't getting any bites on it, and needed the shelf space. Hope it's still there next week. I'll do some serious dickering for it.

As I understand it, there are 3 generations of Parker Hale muskets - 1st all English parts, 2nd English stock and lock, Italian barrel, 3rd all Italian parts. Barrel size tends to run large in the 2nd generation, I have a 2nd generation 2 band Enfield and use a .580 minie bullet. I think 1st generation use the more common .575 minie.

I swage my minies down to .575 after casting. That seems to work well for my English made P-H two band.

Mate, I have two 2 band PH Naval rifles, one since I was 13yrs old, they will both chew out the ten ring off the bench at 50 yards. With the Trevor Bugg minnie. Don't mess about , grab it.

Coot, or anyone with a PH 1861 2 band can you tell me what the distance is on your 2 band from the face of the muzzle to the face of the ramrod.
I have a 3 band and the ramrod is behind the muzzle, but I see photos of the 1861 2 band PH and the ramrod extends forward of the muzzle.
I just bought a unfired, like new 1861 PH 2 band but the owner lost the ramrod when moving home.
I have a spare ramrod for a 3 band Pedersoli I can cut down if I know the dimension. Or if anyone knows where I can get a original 1861 PH ramrod.
