Thanks for all the congrats, but I have to say that this feat was purely accidental. I was as surprised as anyone could be with the result of my shot.

A little more info: When I examined the first deer I found that the ball broke two ribs on entry & two more ribs on exit. Then, as I stated earlier, it broke a rib on entry in the second deer & traveled all the way to the right hind quarter. (I think it's still in there....still gotta bone it out. No exit wound though) Those .54 balls really have plenty of penetration power!

Way to save on powder and shot! :haha: That's a pretty memorable, once in a lifetime experience I'll bet. :hatsoff:

You have GOT to find that ball, clean it up, and frame it or mount it somehow. Or, if it's factory made, sell it back to the company for some real $$$. A magic bullet, they might just buy it back!

Great Picture love the .54 cal I have shot through deer a over 100 yards with a .535 and 100 grains 3fff black in a flint lock Hawkins.

nice al....never know how a ball will travel in and out of a deer....glad it took the other out quickly  :hatsoff: :v ..............bob
