Two new pistols

Well, I've looked for a few years for a really nice Rogers and Spencer and finally found one I liked enough to purchase. It's in like new condition so I can't wait to try it out. I was also looking to see if I could find a spare cylinder for it and got lucky on "the Bay", finding one the seller could not identify, so I made an offer which was accepted, it's brand new. I also latched onto an 1851 navy "London", brand new in box. My gun fund is now depleted for a few weeks which is ok, because looking and spending is exhausting to me. Wes

I like the Rogers & Spencer. Very solid rugged handgun. Only thing I don’t really care for is the sky high hammer spur. Everything else is awesome.

That's funny as I find the hammer spur on my Rogers & Spencer to be a plus, makes cocking it easier for me.

Everyone’s different thank God! I’m not a small guy (6’1””, 230lbs) and my hands are average size, but maybe it’s my age (67) and arthritis is making it difficult, but I find it a bit long of a reach for me. I had contemplated cutting and welding the spur to make it a bit lower like some do with Colt single actions for cowboy action shooting, but I will likely leave mine stock. Mine is excellent condition and stainless steel which I don’t believe Euroarms made a whole lot of. I know they had the plain steel I believe they called the London model or something also.

It may be my style of shooting, under recoil I let the revolver rock back in my hand making the hammer spur closer to my thumb, grab the spur and rock the revolver back down while cocking it.
