...with apologies to the purists.
This morning I introduced two new provisional club members to the joys of black powder shooting with ball and conical in my ROA.
Both were very keen to shoot it, never ever having shot a handgun of any kind in their lives before today [strange as that may seem, they share that with 99.9% of the population of the United Kingdom].
After spending ten minutes on safe-handling of a short black powder handgun [they are both rifle shooters, and competent firearms handlers], I loaded the first cylinder-load for them, and then they fired it off. The next time THEY loaded and fired the piece themselves, and the big grins on the faces through the smoke was a sight to behold.
Both stated that they are bewitched by black powder handgun shooting - the only REAL handgun shooting that most of us can do here in Brownistan, and will be putting a BP revolver on their Firearms Certificate Application form, as well as applying for a BL licence.
Sadly, I ran out of caps before I ran out of bullets, but between them they fired off 156 rounds - and wanted more.
The only thing better than shooting a BP handgun is getting two new converts to the sport!
