Well, this is my second year hunting with a Muzzleloader. I came across this .50 T/C Hawkin several years ago and thought it would be fun to try.

Wow, have I go into this muzzleloader hunting. I am thinking about finding a S/S muzzleloader shotgun and hunt birds with that.

There is no doubt that going out with a black powder muzzleloader and harvesting a nice fine deer is a trophy in itself. I took this Muley Doe at about 40 yards, shooting a 270 gr. Buffalo Ball-et over a felt wad with 75 grs. of 777.

One Deer is all I can eat a year, so my hunting for this season is over.

Grats!! As for the double shotgun, get one. I've had my Pedersoli 12ga. SxS for 9 years and it's accounted for everything from deer with PRB to quail, turkey, grouse and just about everything else. Clients look at me funny when I load it up at the start of a days grouse hunt, but most want to use it before lunch  Just pay attention to the direction the bird was flying or use a good dog for retrieves. Cloud of smoke makes it a bit hard to see the results of your shot :shocked2:

Way to go! Hey how about getting yourself a smoothbore flintlock for birds? Being you got the bug the next step might be to go flint. Lots of fun and very rewarding.

Congrats and keep having fun!
